Where to Park in Ibiza: Best Spots & Free Zones

ibiza-1

Ibiza is a complete paradise for many travellers every year and, honestly, once you’ve had a taste of it, it’s hard not to go back. It’s an island you can’t help but fall in love with because it has something for everyone: from those looking to get lost in a beautiful, mediterranean cove to those wanting to experience its nightlife to the max.

However, we still have to be realistic: parking in certain areas, especially during rush hour or in the height of August, can be a bit of a challenge. That’s why, at DoYouSpain, we’ve put together this guide for you. This is a trip that is much more enjoyable by car; it allows you to plan your own Ibiza road trip, save time, and reach those hidden corners that public transport doesn’t even go near. With a little bit of planning, parking won't take over your holiday time.

Parking in the Centre of Ibiza: ACIRE and ZBE Zones

It’s not that parking is impossible, but keeping a few tips in mind will help you head straight to the right spots. Before heading into the city centre, there are a couple of basic rules worth noting:

Driving Access in Dalt Vila and the Historic Centre

Dalt Vila is the historic heart of Ibiza and, as a World Heritage site, it’s best explored on foot. Its narrow streets aren't made for cars; in fact, there are ACIRE zones where only residents are allowed to enter. The most practical thing to do is leave your car near the harbour or in one of the nearby car parks. That way, you can walk up while enjoying the views and forget all about the restrictions in the old town.

2026 LEZ Regulations: Everything You Need To Know

Low Emission Zones (LEZ), known in Spain as ZBE, are currently being implemented across the island. These are areas that restrict access to polluting vehicles to help improve air quality.

Hiring a car in Ibiza with DoYouSpain means you'll be driving a newer, hybrid, or fuel-efficient vehicle. Most of our fleet already comes with the correct environmental sticker in place, ensuring you're all set with the regulations whenever you're out and about.

Blue and Green Zones: Times and How They Work

Parking times in Ibiza change throughout the year, which is something many people don't realise. Knowing what the different coloured lines mean is important, but making sure you don't get the times mixed up is key for a stress-free trip.

Prices and Maximum Stay in Central Ibiza

In the Blue Zone, you can leave your car for a maximum of 2 hours. It costs roughly 1€ per hour, and you have two options: get a ticket from the traditional pay-and-display machine or use the ElParking app, which is the easiest way to manage it without having to keep an eye on the clock or find a machine.

Parking is free on Sundays and bank holidays, but for the rest of the week, these are the timetables:

  • Summer: Monday to Saturday (9:00–14:00 and 17:00–22:00).
  • Winter: Monday to Friday (9:00–14:00 and 17:00–20:00) and Saturdays (9:00–14:00).

Tip: If you overstay your time, you can usually cancel the fine at the machine for around 3€.

Green Zones for Visitors

While these spots are mainly for locals, you can still use them if the blue zones are full. They work exactly the same way and have the same two-hour limit. The only real difference is that they usually cost a tiny bit more.

Free Parking in Ibiza (White Zones)

They might be a bit further out from the city centre, but white zones are definitely our top pick. You can leave the car there for as long as you like without spending a penny. If you don't mind a bit of a walk, it’s a brilliant way to save some cash while exploring.

Es Dominguets: The Main 'Park and Ride'

This is one of the largest free car parks in the city and a brilliant place to leave your hire car. It’s ideal if you’re coming from outside the city and want to spend the day in the centre. There is a shuttle bus that gets you there in minutes, or if you’d rather walk, it’s only about 15 minutes away.

Where to Park at Ibiza’s Beaches and Coves

Having a car gives you a level of freedom you just don't get with public transport. It has so many perks, especially being able to reach the surrounding coves much easier. Here is a plan for parking at the most popular beaches in Ibiza.

Cala Comte, Cala Bassa and Ses Salines

  • Cala Comte and Cala Bassa: Both have fairly large dirt tracks used for parking. At Cala Comte, you really can’t miss one of the best sunsets in Ibiza. On the other hand, Cala Bassa is well-known for having some of the island’s top beach bars.
  • Ses Salines: This is one of the island's best beaches and home to the famous Beso Beach. Although you have to pay for parking here, the easiest thing to do is just use the main car park so you can head straight down to the sand and enjoy the day.

San Antonio and Santa Eulalia

  • San Antonio: There are loads of different beaches to choose from around here. The simplest way to park is to look for a spot in the residential streets in the upper part of town.
  • Santa Eulalia: This area is much quieter and has a huge variety of coves, so you’re bound to find one you love. Plus, some of the island's best hippy markets are around here. You'll find plenty of free parking on the outskirts, though most of the centre is pay-and-display.
