Car hire in Spain can be misleading as there might be numerous additional costs that you must pay on arrival. These costs vary from car hire company to car hire company but the fact is that you end up paying more than what was quoted initially.
We provide our customers with an honest approach with no hidden costs or last minute extra charges stating very clearly what is included, and what is not, in the price of the rental.

The Rental Price Includes

Cancellations and Amendment Charges
|
|
FREE amendments and FREE booking cancellations.
If you choose to modify or cancel your booking for any reason, you will not pay any cancellation fees. Please, we simply ask to be informed as soon as possible so we can offer your car to another customer.

Deliveries and Collections
|
The collection of the car couldn’t be easier. All our suppliers are well-established car hire companies in Spain operating with offices at the airport.
Collections and deliveries are Free of charge. The cost of Night Time deliveries depends on the location. In most cases they are Free but some have a small charge. Additional Driver
|
|
Our rates include one free extra driver on every car hire. Please note that when the supplier is Atesa or Europcar there might be a supplement for each additional driver. All the information is provided with the voucher when the booking is made.

Insurance
|
Fully Comprehensive Insurance without excess including unlimited civil liability, damage or accident to third parties (CDW), theft of the vehicle (TP), bail bond where applicable and personal accident insurance for the occupants of the rented vehicle. Please note that the only car models which are subject to an “excess" value are:

When booking a car from the ones above you will be asked to leave a credit card deposit to cover the insurance excess. Please note that the amount will be refunded at the end of the rental as long as you return the car in the same condition. In the unfortunate event of an accident the maximum amount you will be charged is the value of the deposit you made.
Please note that where we use Atesa or Europcar Rent a Car as supplier (e.g. Madrid, Barcelona and Bilbao) and in Barcelona the vehicles have an insurance excess of 300-690 EUR depending on the car model chosen. All this information is provided when the booking Voucher is sent.
In case of car damage a report must be completed by the driver for any damage to the vehicle, however minor it is. If a collision with another vehicle occurs, a police report and case number must also be supplied when returning the vehicle. We strongly advise clients to contact the local office in the event of any damage. The telephone is provided with the contract. If this procedure is not followed, the insurance cover could become invalidated so please make sure you follow the instrucctions.

Road Assistance
|
In the unlikely event of any mechanical difficulties, it is important that the details are reported to the local car hire company whose contact information is shown on your voucher or rental agreement.
In case of need of technical road assistance, a phone number is disposed to drivers 365 days a year, 24 hours a day. You can find this number with the documentation of the vehicle.

Pay on Arrival. The Best Secure Shopping System Available
|
Paying on arrival ensures you not to give your credit card details until you collect the vehicle. We believe that the best security we can offer is not to ask private credit card information until you have to make the payment. It couldn’t be safer!
We also have secure servers using an advanced encryption technology that seals the information in a vault only authorised personnel can see.
Please note that a major credit card will be needed on arrival to make the payment. American Express is not accepted. On payment of the vehicle you will be charged in euros. It is your credit card company which sets the exchange rate. The GBP figure we show in the quote is intended as a guide.

DoYouSpain.com is available 24 hours a day, every day of the year. All your queries are treated instantly within the same day of receiving them.
We do not offer telephone support for booking enquiries. Many online companies like Yahoo or Google can not be contacted by telephone. This is part of the new economy and is necessary to cut down costs, so you can get very inexpensive services. However, we do have a 24 hour emergency number for doubts or problems once you have made the booking. Do not worry!

The Rental Price Does NOT Include
|
|
|
Fuel
|
|
Fuel used during the rental is not included in the price.
In some locations vehicles are supplied with a full tank of petrol and
should be returned empty. In this case you will be asked to pay for the fuel
at the beginning of the rental and remember to return the car as empty as
possible as the value of any unused fuel will not be returned. The value
of the fuel depends on the model and ranges approximately between EUR 38
to EUR 90. (£25 - £61). With this petrol policy (full/empty) there is no
need for checking vehicles at the end of the rental, just park the car and
go directly to catch your flight without wasting any time at airport car
park. This is especially handy for drivers like me arriving just in time
for the check-in. For a rental length up to 3 days you can ask our
representative to return it full so you do not have to pay for the full
tank of petrol. In other locations vehicles are supplied with a full tank of
fuel but with the difference that you can return it full (full/full) so
you do not get charged for the petrol. With this option you need to fill
up the fuel tank in a Spanish petrol station nearly at the end of your
rental. Please also bear in mind that you need to return the car a bit
before departure as our representative needs to check the fuel tank to see
that it has been returned with the same amount of petrol as it was taken.
Once you make the booking a voucher is sent via email with all the
information you need such as fuel information, contact telephone numbers,
vehicle collection details and payment details for your convenience.
Our fuelling policy will be clearly stated on the voucher. Please note that if you change these arrangements locally we will not be able to assist you in claiming fuel refunds. Thank you.

Child and Booster Seats
|
We understand that your child's comfort and safety whilst on holiday is of paramount importance to you. In the past, ourselves and other car hire companies provided car seats free of charge. However, the cost of maintaining the high standards of car seats you are used to has increased substantially. We are committed to providing you with the best quality car seats and boosters. For this reason we have been forced to introduce a supplement of 2,5 euros per day (max. 30 euros), payable locally. Thank you for your understanding.
Please note that when the supplier is Atesa or Europcar, the conditions are slightly different.
CHILD SEATS are suitable for young children from 1 to 3 years. Meanwhile BOOSTER SEATS are normally suitable for children older than 3 years.
Both child seats and booster seats are manufactured to European safety standards. Please note child seats are never "pre-installed" for security reasons; they must be fitted by the parent or guardian prior to the start of the rental.

Car Key Lost
|
|
Replacement of lost keys is not included. If you are unfortunate enough to lose your car keys during the car rental period you might be charged 100 €. Please, take care of the car keys while they are with you.

Flat tyres
|
|
All our vehicles are delivered in perfect condition. Hirers are held responsible for any tyre damage caused during the rental. Normally tyre damage is caused because the car has been taken off-road. Our cars cannot be used off-road. Although a very rare ocurrance, we'd like you to be aware that damage to the undercarriage of the car hire vehicle is your responsibility, frequently caused by negligent driving or off-road use.

Windscreen damage
|
|
The hirer is also held responsible for vehicle glass broken during rental period.
|
|
Inadequate refuelling
|
|
Please, make sure you fill up with the correct type of fuel. The cost of inadequate refuelling is approximately 100 €.

|
Traffic Fines
|
|
Parking and speeding fines incurred during the rental are at your own risk.
|
|
|
|
Flight Information
|
|
Flight Information is important because if your flight is delayed we hold your car until you arrive at your destination. If you are collecting your car at the airport, it is imperative that DoYouSpain.com is given your correct outbound flight number. If this is not known to you at the time of booking your car, please make sure you make contact with our Reservation Department (info@DoYouSpain.com) prior departure. If we are not provided with the correct flight information in time, we will do our best to ensure that the car is available, but no responsibility can be accepted for a failed rental.

Car Type
|
|
Unfortunately, we are unable to guarantee a particular make or model of car, diesel or petrol. The vehicle shown on our website is for guidance only and may be substituted for a similar alternative or upgraded car at no extra cost.
|
|
Driving licence
|
All drivers must produce a Full Driving Licence valid in the EU, held for a minimum of one year. The minimum age required is 21 years old.
The upper age limit is 79 years.
Please note that where we use Atesa or Europcar Rent a Car as the supplier (e.g. Madrid, Barcelona and Bilbao) the minimum age is 23, holding the
licence for a minimum of two years.
It is the driver’s responsibility to ensure that they have the appropriate driving licence.

One Way Rentals
|
|
One way rentals are available in most locations, but must be booked and confirmed in advance and may be subject to local charge. If you require more information please send us an email to: info@DoYouSpain.com

Driving Restrictions
|
|
It depends on the supplier and on the location as to whether it is possible to take the car abroad. If you want to take the car abroad please write us an email to info@DoYouSpain.com and we will check if we can offer you this option. In some cases there will be an excess or a charge for an additional insurance.
It is not allowed to take a hire car from one island to another (e.g. Canary Islands).

Payment
|
|
Payment can be made using a credit card such as VISA or MASTERCARD. Please note that paying by debit cards or Cash is Not possible.
|
|
Important
|
Please take care to return the vehicle in the same condition as it was collected in. A minimum charge of 30eur will be applied if the returned car required extra special cleaning.
If you wish to extend the rental contract please contact us at DoYouSpain.com. Customers which return their vehicles later than the specified return time could be penalised.

Security
|
|
This site has security measures in place to protect the loss, misuse and alteration of the information under our control. Our secure servers are designed to prevent unauthorized access with the latest security technology. We do not keep any credit card information as the payment is made on arrival.
